Chronic illness doesn’t stop due to COVID. In fact, it is more important than ever to stay connected. Thanks to our HHH donors and delivery people for making sure we can still bring a smile to sick kids!!!!
Celebrating a special birthday for a little one turning 1 in the NICU! Thanks to all who continue to support HHH and the kids we serve.
Meet our new friend, Addison!! She is battling Wilms’ tumor and has some big appointments coming up so please add her to your thoughts and prayers. We were excited to get her new swing to her ASAP so she could sneak in a little more summer. Addison is a big fan of Fancy Nancy and we loved surprising her with a few other toys and books. Isn’t she a honey?
HHH wishes to extend a hardy thank you to Stanley W. Eckstrom Foundation for their generosity toward our Polar Plunge and our mission as a whole. This the 3rd year in a row that the Stanley W. Eckstrom Foundation has provided their support! We are grateful that their gift will allow us to provide a lot of joy to kids that could use a little hope and happiness. To learn more about The Stanley W. Eckstrom Foundation and all of the good they are doing, visit https://www.swefoundation.org.
Thanks to West Michigan Uniform for providing these great shirts for our plungers this year!
HHH has been fortunate to get to know some of the extra special programs offered at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital. We recently worked with the child life staff at the Intensive Feeding Program to “remodel” the play kitchen along with some other new toys, a play mat and crazy mirror. The IFP works with a variety of kids that have special eating challenges due to a medical condition. It’s common for kids in their program to have 3 meals a day for 8 weeks straight at their clinic. We hope some new toys will add to their positive experience in the program!
Sam is a 17 year old young man fighting a rare form of cancer called Epithelioid hemangioendothelioma. We’re happy to be a part of helping Sam capture special moments with family and friends.
Thanks to everyone who supports HHH and makes this type of gift possible!
We’re jumping again! On February 15th (time TBD, check back for updates), our dedicated plungers hit the icy cold waters of Gun Lake in Hastings, MI as participants in the Winter Fest. We’re not crazy enough to do this kind of thing just for fun, though! We were jumping to bring joy to pediatric patients during their hospital stays.
The funds raised will continue to provide items to entertain children that are undergoing long-term treatment, fuel and restaurant gift cards to ease a little of the stress their families are under and tokens of appreciation to encourage the medical staff caring for them.
We are so excited to launch a pilot program at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital where kids will get to drive a vehicle to their outpatient surgeries!! These pediatric patients don’t get to make very many choices regarding their treatment. Now they at least get to choose whether they take the sweet dune buggy or the jacked up Jeep! If all goes well, HHH is planning to donate many more vehicles for kids to use at the hospital. Thanks so much to all of our supporters for your part in making this project a reality!
Autumn in Michigan means visiting the apple orchard! Thanks to the generosity of HHH supporters, our sweet friend Avery is riding in style and comfort in his new jogger. His mom says that it’s way easier to navigate the orchard terrain with this stroller instead of his wheelchair. We’re so glad to have been a part of it… Have fun Avery!
